Create a sense of enchantment by hanging small lanterns. Alternatively you can pop a simple tea light into your used jam jars and place them around your garden to achieve the same effect. Just remember to wash them first!

Create a stunning floral centre piece for your table by layering trays with large upturned flower pots. Then, place smaller flower pots filled with your favourite flowers on to the tiered trays. Simple but extremely effective!

Decorate paper cups with unused pretty wallpaper or wrapping paper to create stylish, recyclable drinking vessels that won’t break should they fall on your patio!

Scatter large, bright cushions and rugs around your lawn for a fun and relaxed seating arrangement.

Back in the Victorian days, it was not uncommon for the host to erect a tent from which to serve refreshments. This is a great idea - a designated serving area is not just a brilliant way of keeping your food weather proofed, it can provide add to the décor, providing a focal point of different colours and textures of food. You can really bring this area to life by adding brightly coloured table linen and even a string of bunting.
